After undergoing an exterior overhaul in 2007, as well as an ongoing interior facelift, the Delhi Belgian Club now has a Business Improvement Award to hang on its freshly painted walls.
The award was given at the annual Delhi Chamber of Commerce banquet last Wednesday evening at the Delhi District German Home.
"We’re very proud," said Belgian Club president, Marc Vanden Bussche. "Business has definitely boomed since the renovations."
The Business Improvement Award came from the community but recognition also came from the provincial and federal government.
"We are very excited about all the recognition for our hard work," Vanden Bussche said. The building received a brighter curb appeal last summer when the façade went from brick to stucco. A new logo was soon to follow giving a much-needed update to the Belgian Club. Inside, a newly renovated basement allows for large parties, showers, and get-togethers, and they are not stopping there.
"We still have a lot of work to do and many plans to keep the renovations going," said Vanden Bussche. "It used to be so dark both inside and out, and now it’s opened up and more inviting."
With all of the work that has been accomplished at the club, Vanden Bussche is quick to thank the board, shareholders and community for continued support.
"We are so grateful for the support of the shareholders and donations. They all saw results and realized it was worth it. This is their award too."
